Spout: A sight for sore eyes

Spout: A sight for sore eyes
IPAD APPS REVIEW

Yes, I know I’ve ranted many a time about the general ugliness of the interwebs.  And I appreciate the effort Spout has made here to alleviate the aforementioned retarded aesthetics.

But now my eyes hurt.  That can’t be good, can it?

Friendly for Facebook 2: The second coming

Friendly for Facebook 2: The second coming
IPAD APPS REVIEW

Déjà vu.

It means they’ve changed something.

You know, in the Matrix…the black cat walks twice…

All right, enough quazi-spiritual sci-fi crap.  Friendly for Facebook’s been updated a whole bunch since last I has a squiz at it, so I figured it was time to take another look, to see if it still rocks.

Flipboard: Riding the gossip tsunami

Flipboard: Riding the gossip tsunami
IPAD APPS REVIEW

How do you keep up with everything?  How does one avoid being pulverized by the tsunami of digital gossip?  That’s a little on the OTT side, I know.  But really.  Facebook, Twitter, Blogs…just to name the big three alone…check them all every day and you’re easily throwing three or more hours of your life into the deep, dark pit of current affairs and current gossip.

Flipboard…your own magazine personalized from the lives and ideas of your friends and heroes.

Facepad: Egg on the Face

Facepad: Egg on the Face
IPAD APPS REVIEW

Making yourself obsolete upon release…now that takes a certain type of talent.  And I have to hand it to Loytr, the developers of Facepad.  With this app they’ve proved that they have that talent in abundance.

Yes…this is a Summary Execution.

Why?  Here’s an app that actually provides less functionality, less interaction, less of pretty much everything that can be experienced by just jumping on Safari and going to Facebook the old fashioned way.

Wordpress for the iPad: Pressing on the move!

Wordpress for the iPad: Pressing on the move!
IPAD APPS REVIEW

In the Squarespace iPhone app review, I likened the dream of being a mobile blogger to the adventures of Spider, the cyberpunk journalist from Transmetropolitan.

Writing from the eye of the storm.  And while the Squarespace app was a bit of a let down, the Wordpress iPad app has a whole lot more going for it.  It’s not perfect, but works.
