Photobucket: What the buck…et?
IPAD APPS REVIEW

I have a sweet tooth for eye candy…particular for illustrations.  Rodney Matthews, Gris Grimly, Nathan Jurevicious…these are guys whose work makes my world a better place.  I can’t draw to save my life, and my photographic skills aren’t much to sing and dance about either.

Road Cam NZ: The roads have eyes, man!

Road Cam NZ: The roads have eyes, man!
IPHONE APPS REVIEW

I’m humming the theme tune to CHiPs as I review this app…you know, Jon Baker and Frank Ponch keeping their lawful sunglassed eyes on the mean streets of California?  Up there with the Dukes of Hazzard as one of my all time favourite shows watched as a kid.

Flipboard: Riding the gossip tsunami

Flipboard: Riding the gossip tsunami
IPAD APPS REVIEW

How do you keep up with everything?  How does one avoid being pulverized by the tsunami of digital gossip?  That’s a little on the OTT side, I know.  But really.  Facebook, Twitter, Blogs…just to name the big three alone…check them all every day and you’re easily throwing three or more hours of your life into the deep, dark pit of current affairs and current gossip.

How do you make sense of it and pick out what you really really want to know?

Flipboard…your own magazine personalized from the lives and ideas of your friends and heroes.

Daphnee: A very lovely french teacher indeed
IPHONE APPS REVIEW

If only my high school French teacher had been this saucy.  Sorry Mrs Mendelssohn, no offence, but had Daphnee been there I probably would have paid just a tad more attention.  J’mappelle croissant, if you know what I mean…

Music Hype: A place to wallow in music

Music Hype: A place to wallow in music
WEB APPS REVIEW

I used to be a complete music junky.  As a kid I would record the Sunday top 30 on tape and then use my tape to tape electronic keyboard to make compilations to give out to my friends at school.  I listened to hours and hours and hours of music.  I saved up money working on the farm for my first ever big purchase…a stereo.

Had Music Hype been around in those days, I would have been there, 24/7.  No really.  I lived on a farm and it was a ten kilometre cycle to my nearest friend.

24/7.

Strange Rain: My iPad is raining on me

Strange Rain: My iPad is raining on me
IPAD APPS REVIEW

A bit of diversion here…in a couple of senses of the word.  This is a completely accidental find on the app store but one that would have been totally rude to resist.

Strange Rain.

You’re not strictly making anything…more of a relaxing way to take some time out from making stuff.

So what is it?  It’s got rain.  It’s strange.  And it’s a mind blowing example of how the sum is always greater than the parts.
